Depending on the severity of the problem and the cooperation of the patient in each case, the duration of orthodontic treatment varies. Modern materials and braces, however, are made in such a way as to  the teeth in the right places with the necessary adjustments by the Orthodontist. They also show the least possible resistance (friction force) during the movement of the teeth and therefore significantly shorten the treatment time. Usually 16-18 months of treatment is enough for an excellent result.

At this stage of childhood the remaining physical growth can be used to correct any skeletal problems (eg protruding chin or far back, asymmetries), to stop habits that lead to orthodontic problems (e.g. sucking the thumb), to avoid any injury to the teeth (eg when they protrude) but also to create the necessary space for the eruption of the permanent teeth in the right places. Many orthodontic problems are not immediately visible to parents, however it is recommended to visit the orthodontist even at a younger age, if a problem is noticed. Modern orthodontics supports timely treatment, which has been shown to lead to more permanent results and minimize the need for future exports.
